UPDATE: Adds to information originally posted on November 29.

April 08, 2020

The City of West Kelowna advises T&A Rock Works is continuing blasting work until June 1, 2020 for future road, services and subdivision development in the Smith Creek neighbourhood.

Activity will occur in the upper Smith Creek Road area above Doucette Drive, near Dixie Road, Sugosa Place and Copper Ridge Drive. Blasting will occur Monday to Saturday. As a courtesy to residents, the company will endeavor to limit blasting to between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., but can blast outside of this period if required, as per the terms of the City of West Kelowna’s Good Neighbor Bylaw.

As part of WorkSafeBC requirements, safety horns will sound before the blast and once the area is clear. The company will conduct vibration and air over pressure monitoring during blasting activities.

Those with questions or concerns should contact the blasting company at 250-765-4811 or email tarockworks@shaw.ca.
