Date of issue: Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025 - 4:30 p.m.

Due to consecutive, positive lab results, the City of West Kelowna is rescinding the precautionary boil water notice for the 26 affected residences on Hudson Road.

The following addresses are no longer on a precautionary boil water notice:

  • 1009, 1019, 1029, 1039, 1049, 1059, 1079, 1089, 1099, 1107, 1119, 1129, 1139, 1149, 1159, 1169, 1179 and 1189 on the south/southwest side of Hudson Road.
  • 1060, 1098, 1132, 1142, 1150 and 1152 on the north/northeast side of Hudson Road.
  • 2643 and 2653 on the north/northeast side of Paula Road.

High velocity flows will have stirred up sediment in pipes in some adjacent, but not all, areas of the Rose Valley Water Service Area. Residents are advised not to use discolored/turbid water, but to first run their cold taps until clear. If, after 10 minutes, the water has not run clear, please call Public Works Utilities at 778-797-2246.

As an added precaution, parents in the Rose Valley Water Service Area are still advised to use an alternative source of water to reconstitute baby formula. The City will complete further tests at key locations throughout the system, as part of our operating best practices, prior to lifting this recommendation.

The bulk filling station at Shannon Lake and Asquith Roads remains open to provide an alternative source of water. Bring clean bottles for filling. Use caution due to icy conditions.

Please note, Hudson Road’s width is narrowed, and the speed limit is reduced to 30km/h, from Guidi to Concord, during the Family Day long-weekend, through at least Tuesday morning, Feb. 18, until gravel replacements and repaving can be coordinated during warmer temperatures. Motorists, please obey signs and traffic controls and go slow for everyone’s safety. Transit continues its usual long weekend schedule through Monday, Feb. 17.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding through this restoration and recovery period following the significant emergency water main break that occurred overnight Feb. 10 – 11.
