Date of Issue: Friday, May 1, 2026
On Monday, May 4, crews will begin work on Shannon Ridge Drive as part of the City of West Kelowna’s annual road rehabilitation program. This portion of the project will be divided into two phases.
Phase one starting in May 2026will include:
- Shannon Green Court to Ensign Way
- Shannon Court cul-de-sac to Woodstock Drive
Phase two starting in July 2026will include:
- Shannon Lake Road to Shannon Green Court
- Shannon Place from Woodstock Drive to Shannon Ridge Drive
Drivers can expect single lane alternating traffic during construction times between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday, with each phase taking approximately three weeks to complete. Two-way traffic will resume in evenings after 6 p.m., and on weekends. Access to driveways, businesses, and emergency services will be maintained.
During daytime construction hours, motorists should expect traffic control personnel and brief delays. Please also note that no parking along Shannon Ridge Drive is permitted during this time. Bylaw enforcement will be active, and vehicles parked in restricted areas may be towed in order to complete the work.
Crews will work as quickly and safely as possible to complete this work within the provided timeline, but the schedule may change subject to weather conditions, contractor scheduling, and other factors.
For everyone’s safety and out of respect for neighbours, please follow traffic control signs and personnel, slow down, and move over for crews, and follow posted speed limits in and around work zones and along detour routes.
We thank commuters and residents for your patience while this work is completed.
