This week the City of West Kelowna will host two free Music in the Park concerts in Memorial Park to entertain you; the first on Friday Night and a bonus concert on Saturday Night.
Headlining on Friday, July 26 at 8 p.m. at the Annette Beaudreau Amphitheatre is Crystal Shawanda, a Canadian country and blues singer songwriter. Chrystal has been nominated for a number of JUNO awards and won the Indigenous Music Album of the Year for Just Like You in 2013. Opening for Chrystal at 7 p.m. is Michael Daniels a prairie-raised, up and coming Canadian country singer songwriter.
A special bonus Music in the Park will take place on Saturday, July 27. Headlining at 8 p.m. is the Shawn Lightfoot Band. This four-piece Vernon-based group performs crowd-pleasing rock, country and pop cover tunes. Opening for the Shawn Lightfoot Band at 7 p.m. is Keala Morazain a talented young singer from Lake Country.
Emerging artists kick off both shows at 6:40 p.m. to warm up the crowd.
The food trucks joining us for both concerts this week will be:
- Nomadic Bannock - bannock, Indian tacos, chili
- Kona Ice of Central Okanagan - shaved ice
- Dosa Crepes - savory and sweet crepes
- Peter Ze German – bratwurst, schnitzel, grilled cheese, salad
