FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Thursday, July 13, 2023
The City of West Kelowna is hosting a Public Hearing to consider the Official Community Plan (OCP) Bylaw No. 300.
- Date: Thursday, July 20, 2023
- Time: 5:00 p.m.
- Location: Council Chambers at West Kelowna City Hall – 2760 Cameron Road, West Kelowna
The OCP update was initiated in 2021 to accommodate the more than 12,000 new residents anticipated to call West Kelowna home by 2040 and following the creation of the Community Vision.
The proposed OCP (2040) introduced a Growth Concept that identified key higher density areas of growth including two Urban Centres, five Neighbourhood Centres and a Growth Boundary to focus growth efficiently. Policies in the OCP support the Growth Concept to balance growth and development in West Kelowna to achieve our desired goals outlined in the Community Vision to create complete, compact and connected neighbourhoods.
