FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 20, 2019
The City of West Kelowna has issued a new blasting permit for residential development in Upper Vineyard Estates.
The permit allows T & A Rockworks to continue works approved under previous permits. Permits expire after six months, requiring the applicant to reapply to the City if blasting is still required. The continuance is effective June 25 and permits the ongoing development of a subdivision-servicing corridor in the Pinot Noir Drive area.
The permit allows activity to occur between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday as noted in the blasting company’s communication plan. As part of WorkSafeBC requirements, safety horns must sound before the blast and once crews clear the area. Vibration and air over pressure monitoring will be conducted during blasting activity.
Please direct questions or concerns to the blasting company by calling 250-765-4811 or emailing tarockworks@shaw.ca.
