Our popular Music in the Park series starts its lucky number seventh season this Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Headlining opening night at 8 p.m. are The Insiders, a Kelowna-based, party band with decades of music industry experience. Commanding the stage are frontwoman Danielle Thompson, lead vocalist and guitarist Patrick Gilmour, Paul Hawley on bass and backup vocals, drummer Doug Desjardins, and keyboardist and backup singer Sean Kabanuk. The Insiders transition between pop, rock, soul and modern classics to create an upbeat atmosphere that brings audiences of all ages to their feet.
Opening act J.S. Garcia Band takes the stage at 7 p.m. blending folk, country, pop, and rock influences to create their unique style. Up front they have singer-songwriter and mother/daughter duo Jenn and Sophia Boal, with Laverne Berget on keyboard, Chris Schriek on drums, and Robby McAlpine on bass. The Lake Country band’s undeniable chemistry and captivating stage presence hold audiences on the edge of their seats.
Emerging artist Anika Ellis gets the show rolling at 6:40 p.m.
In the Kids Zone, two inflatable playgrounds from Par-t-perfect will be set up for hours of fun from 6 to 9 p.m. so long rain stays away.
The food trucks joining us on this week will be:
- Peter Ze German - Bratwurst, Grilled Cheese, Schnitzel, Salad
- Kona Ice of Central Okanagan - Shaved Ice
- Dosa Crepes - Savory and Sweet Crepes
