FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 08, 2019
The City of West Kelowna will close Majoros Pond Park for approximately three weeks beginning October 9 to repair damages caused during 2018 flooding.
The City will excavate flood material deposited in the three ponds in the park, located at 3645 Carrington Road. To do this, the ponds must first be de-watered with Westbank Creek and Smith Creek being diverted around the work zone. The ponds and the channels connecting them will be rebuilt and vegetation replanted.
Construction is expected to be finished and the park re-opened by October 31.
