The Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre (JBMAC) is reopening with limited aquatic programming starting September 14 and registration begins this week.
Changes to registering for programs and drop-in are in effect. You can check out all the great options available at JBMAC in the City of West Kelowna’s Fall Recreation Guide that is available online at westkelownacity.ca/recguide.
Key Fall Registration Dates:
- Mon. August 17 at 8 a.m. - Fitness and general programming at JBMAC
- Wed. August 19 at 8 a.m. - Red Cross Swim Lessons
- Mon. August 24 at 8:30 a.m. - General registration for all other City recreation programming
To ensure your safety, please note these important JBMAC Phase 2 reopening COVID-19 pandemic preventative measures:
- There will be shortened hours and modified classes to comply with Provincial Health Orders
- No public swims at this time
- You will need to call-in and register in advance for Lane Swim, Drop-in Aqua, Land Fitness and the Weight Room. They are now all considered Call-in Drop-in programs. This means you must reserve your space the day before starting at 9 a.m.
- You will need to wear your bathing suit when you come to the pool
- No lockers will be available, but they will have a place for you to put your belongings on the pool deck
- There will be limited use of the change room
- The Steam Room and the spectator lounge are not available at this time
- More details on all this and more can be found in Fall Rec Guide at the link above
City staff continue to work closely with the BC Recreation and Parks Association, following the Provincial Health Officer’s guidelines, to create socially distanced programs, with limited gathering sizes. Since space is limited, we encourage you to register early.
