Holiday Hours of Operation for City Services

Season's greetings. The City of West Kelowna wishes everyone all the best of the holiday season.

City of West Kelowna offices will close for the holidays at 1 p.m. December 24 and reopen by 8:30 a.m. January 2 at the following locations:

• City Hall at Mount Boucherie Community Centre, 2760 Cameron Road.
• Engineering and Purchasing Offices at Lakeview Village, 879 Anders Road.
• Operations Building (Parks and Cemetery Administration) at 3717 Elliott Road.
• Roads and Utilities Building at 2570 Bartley Road.
• West Kelowna Fire Rescue Administration at 2708 Olalla Road.

The City will continue to provide various essential services over the holidays including transit, waste collection and winter roads maintenance. For customer service inquiries, please call 778-797-1000 or visit www.westkelownacity.ca/christmasholidayguide.

For the Winter Holiday Ice Rink Schedule, which runs from Sunday, December 21 to Sunday, January 5, please visit www.westkelownacity.ca/recguide. Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre will be closed Christmas Day and open from noon to 4 p.m. Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, Boxing Day, Thursday, December 26, New Year's Eve Tuesday, December 31 and New Year's Day, Wednesday, January 1. Standard operating hours are in effect all other days. 

Curbside waste collection will continue on an adjusted schedule. For the weeks of December 22 and December 29, curbside pickup remains the same on Monday and Tuesday, but moves ahead one day for those who have collection Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Those with Wednesday pickup should put carts at the curb Thursday. Thursday collection moves to Friday, and Friday collection occurs Saturday. The normal schedule resumes Monday, January 6. If your waste was at the curb on the correct day and time with lids closed and crews missed your bins, please call E360 Solutions at 250.868.3211 to arrange collection.

The Westside Residential Waste and Recycling Centre on Asquith Road will be open from Friday through Monday 7:30 a.m. to 3:50 p.m.

Buses will run on a Sunday schedule Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25 and New Year's Day, Wednesday, January 1. Transit will operate on a Saturday schedule on Boxing Day, Thursday, December 26. Transit service runs on the usual schedule for all other days including Christmas Eve, December 24 and New Year’s Eve, December 31.

For winter roads maintenance requests for City of West Kelowna streets, please call 1-866-353-3136. Please help maintenance crews by parking off-street for up to 48 hours after it stops snowing to ensure plows can clear your street efficiently and safely. Please do not shovel snow back onto the road. Please also be a good neighbor and clear the sidewalks around your home. When clearing your driveway, please shovel snow to the left as you face your home so plows leave a smaller windrow along driveway frontages.
