Sing along to timeless covers or find a new favourite as headliners Lindsay May and the Mayhem and opening act Dan Tait take the stage at Music in the Park Friday, Aug. 6.
Award winning singer, songwriter and bass guitarist Lindsay May teams up with her multitalented band the Mayhem at 7:40 p.m. to headline this week’s free concert at Kinsmen Park. May has five solo albums to her credit, has toured North America and Europe, and with the Mayhem they create a rock/country trio that wins over audiences with top 40 tunes at festivals and concerts throughout BC.
Folk/roots musician Dan Tait will open the show at 6:40 p.m. delivering an unforgettable, road-worn performance. Tait captures crowds with his bright eyes and big, red beard. He’s a folk musician's rocker, and a honky-tonk bluesman who toured Canada for 15 years and then took a break during the pandemic to write and produce a new catalogue of original songs.
Food trucks will be on site and our free Kids Play Zone will be up and running, provided smoke and air-quality permit. Dress for the weather and bring your own blankets, chairs, sun umbrellas and water.
Parking is limited; so please consider ridesharing or an evening stroll down to the venue if you live in nearby Shannon Lake, Smith Creek or Westbank. The concert takes place in the Kinsmen Park upper field but people are also welcome to set up chairs and blankets in nearby areas of the park to enjoy the show. In keeping with Phase 3 of BC’s Restart Plan, stay home if you or members of your family are sick. For more information on public health guidelines, please visit the Province of BC’s website.
