The City of West Kelowna is launching Phase 3 of the Transportation Master Plan (TMP) and a Transit Survey to gather valuable community input. We invite residents to help guide the future of transportation and transit services in the City by participating in these important consultations.

Engagement period: Feb. 3 – 17, 2025

How to get involved:

  • Learn more: Head over to OurWK.ca to find out more about the proposed future network improvements and how you can provide your input on transit in our community.
  • Online survey: Complete the online Transit Survey at OurWK.ca/transit.
  • Community Open House: Join us in person at our Open House on Thursday, Feb. 6, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at City Hall Council Chambers (3731 Old Okanagan Highway). Meet with staff, ask questions, and share your ideas.

This is your chance to have a direct impact on shaping our City’s transportation infrastructure and transit services, helping to make West Kelowna more accessible, efficient, and sustainable for everyone.

The feedback collected will help to inform critical decisions as we move forward with both the TMP and transit improvements across our community.

About Phase 3 of the TMP

We are updating our Transportation Master Plan (TMP)—a long-range plan that will guide how the City plans, manages, and invests in walking and cycling, transit, and road networks for the next 20 years and beyond. Long-term transportation planning is vital to achieving the community’s vision of vibrant city centres with complete, connected communities where you can walk, bike and take transit easily. The TMP update has been developed through an extensive three-phase, multi-year technical and community engagement process, in alignment with the Official Community Plan (OCP) Update.

We are now in Phase 3, which includes:

  • Part 1 (we are here): Reviewing our progress and proposed future network improvements.

  • Part 2 (coming in early spring): Exploring the draft plan and gathering community input.

Now we want your feedback on the proposed vision, goals, strategies, actions and overall alignment with the needs of our community.

Watch for the draft TMP coming in early spring.

About the Transit Survey

The West Kelowna Transit Survey seeks to gather detailed insights from both current transit users and non-users to better understand their experiences, needs, and preferences. By collecting this valuable data, the survey will help guide data-driven decisions to enhance the public transit system, addressing user demand, safety concerns, and overall satisfaction. With strong community interest in transit improvements, this survey offers a structured way for residents to voice their opinions and influence meaningful change. Whether you're a regular rider or someone who rarely uses transit, your feedback is crucial to shaping a safer, more convenient and reliable transit system that meets the needs of the entire community.

For more details about both initiatives, visit OurWK.ca.
