Regional Economic Development and Tourism Goals

Council was provided information regarding the 2019 economic development and tourism goals for the Central Okanagan. Representatives from the City’s own Economic Development Office as well as the Economic Development Commission of the Regional District of Central Okanagan, Tourism Kelowna, Westbank First Nation and the Greater Westside Board of Trade informed Council of the activities being undertaken by their organizations.

Town Hall Meeting on Westbank Centre

Council agreed to host a Town Hall meeting to gather input and suggestions for the public regarding activities in West Kelowna’s downtown area. Council is providing this opportunity for public input related to concerns with crime, vagrancy, open drug use and unsavoury behaviour that is negatively impacting the downtown core of Westbank Centre. The Town hall meeting will take place Thursday, June 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Westbank Lions Community Centre at 2466 Main Street in West Kelowna. The meeting will be facilitated by a third party. Those attendees who wish to provide input will be given up to two minutes each to provide remarks.
