City Council has one elected mayor and six elected councillors who are elected at large for a four-year term.
Together, the mayor and councillors are responsible for city services such as bylaws, taxes, streets, sidewalks, and water.

Gord Milsom was elected Mayor of West Kelowna in October 2018. He previously served on the community’s first Council after the “Westside District Municipality” was incorporated on December 6, 2007. He was re-elected as Councillor in 2008 and again in 2011, serving a further six years.
Gord was born and educated in Montreal and graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He moved to the Westside from Vancouver in 1992 with his wife, Laurel, and two children, Heather and Daman. He operated a successful financial planning practice for 40 years prior to taking on a new challenge as Mayor of the City of West Kelowna.
During the past 29 years, Mayor Milsom has contributed to his community in the following ways:
- President/Board Member, Westside Minor Hockey for 10 years
- President of the Rotary Club of Kelowna and a Charter Member of the West Kelowna Daybreak Rotary Club; a Rotarian for 24 year
- Past Director of the Westside Community Food Bank
- Past Director of the Greater Westside Board of Trade
- Former Chair of the West Kelowna Economic Development Committee
Rick de Jong was first elected in 2011 and is currently serving his fourth term with Council. He also serves as a Director at the Regional District of the Central Okanagan.
Rick de Jong has enjoyed being a volunteer with a variety of community organizations:

- Big Brothers
- School Parent Advisory Councils

Originally from Richmond, BC, Tasha and her daughter Olivia moved to West Kelowna in 2012. She is serving her first term with Council.
Tasha is the founder and primary innovator of a local tech company which focuses on consulting services for small business; including Retail Stores and Restaurants across the Okanagan- Similkameen area.
Tasha has always sought out opportunities to contribute and is eager to lend her talents and time for the betterment of the community.
Tasha Da Silva continues to contribute to the community in the following ways:

Originally from Winnipeg, MB, Jason Friesen moved to West Kelowna in 2004. He is serving his first term with Council.
The move to West Kelowna was a fortunate opportunity offered by his then employer to manage the regional office for a national Income Tax and Small Business consulting firm. Since that time, Jason has taken on a number of different roles in the Region, mainly in the modular construction industry, as a Sales representative, Branch/Regional Manager and Business Development Manager.
Jason is supported by his wonderful wife of more than 24 years and 3 amazing kids; Keegan, Aiden and Sarah.
Jason Friesen has also contributed to the community in the following ways:
- Finance Chair for local non-profit (2008-2015)
- Okanagan Regional Library (2018-2020)
- Economic Development Committee (2020-2021)
Growing up in West Kelowna, Stephen has always had an active interest in community. A local through and through, he attended Rose Valley Elementary and graduated from Mount Boucherie Secondary. He is married to his best friend and high school sweetheart Leah, and they have two amazing children who are now attending the high school where they first met. To round out the family they have two dogs, a sweet old hound named Autumn; and Smalls, a mini dachshund who is a fun-loving rascal!
Stephen has served West Kelowna as a City Councillor since 2018. He has also worked alongside Mayor Milsom as a Director of the Regional District of the Central Okanagan from 2018-May of 2024.
Born at Kelowna General Hospital in 1984, Garrett Millsap went on to graduate from Kelowna Senior Secondary in 2002 and completed a Business Degree from Okanagan College/UBCO in 2008.
Garrett has worked for large fortune 500 companies as well has run successful entrepreneurial endeavours most recently Rad Relish Co. Garrett currently sits on the board of directors for the Kelowna Metis Association since 2016 and is a proud member of Metis Nation British Columbia. In 2015, Garrett and his wife amazing wife Kim moved to West Kelowna and decided to make the community their forever home. Kim and Garrett welcomed their first child Brooke in 2021.
Garrett looks forward to serving his first term on Council and wants to continue making West Kelowna the best city for families to live, work and play in Canada.

Carol Zanon was elected to the District of Westside council in November, 2007.
Since then she has been re-elected four times to the City of West Kelowna Council.
Carol was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Saint Vincent University. Subsequently, she attended UBC and received a M.Sc. in Biology and Botany in the Field of Genetics.
After raising a family, she went to Law School at the University of Saskatchewan and holds a J.D. degree. In 1998, Carol and her husband Carl moved to the Westside. They have six grown children; Laura, Peter, Scott, Michelle, Valerie and Paul.
During the past 20 years, Carol has held the following positions:
- Chair/Trustee of the Westbank Irrigation District that built the Powers Creek Water Treatment Plant
- Chair/Trustee of the Okanagan Regional Library Board
- Founding Member of the Friends of Westbank Library
- Director, Gellatly Bay Trails and Parks Society
- Chair/Member of the RDCO Westbank Advisory Planning Commission
- Member, Westside Governance Committee for four years prior to Incorporation
- Founding Member, Gellatly Nut Farm Society
