Watermain flushing program shifts to next section of the Lakeview Heights neighbourhood

The City’s watermain flushing program is progressing, with crews starting work in Zone 3B (see map – RV03B) of the Rose Valley Water Service Area beginning Wednesday, July 16, 2025. An isolated, precautionary water quality advisory will be in effect within this flushing zone only while the planned maintenance program is underway and will continue until further notice.

Section of McDougall Road closed for repair work on July 16

Date of Issue: Tuesday, July 15, 2025 

On Wednesday, July 16, AEL will be completing road repairs on a section of McDougall Road.

As a result of the work, a section of McDougall Road from will be closed to motorists from 2170 McDougall Road to Stevens Road. A detour will be place along Rosewood Drive to Westlake Road.

Crews are scheduled to work from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The construction schedule is subject to weather conditions, contractor schedule changes and other factors.

Minor traffic interruptions expected for World of Wheels Car Show this Saturday

Motorists are advised to expect minor traffic delays on Saturday, July 19 due to the World of Wheels Car Show at Kinsmen Athletic Park at 3170 Shannon Lake Road.

The free, family-friendly event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but traffic may be impacted throughout the day, particularly near the intersections of Shannon Lake Road, Shannon Way, and Asquith Road, as volunteers and participants set up and take down.

Section of Anders Road closed for final paving work

Starting Friday, July 11, 2025, Matcon Construction is scheduled to begin the final phase of work on Anders Road as part of the active transportation improvement project. This work will require additional adjusted traffic patterns.

To date, Matcon Construction has completed stormwater upgrades, installed a bike lane and sidewalk, and added street lighting along Anders Road from the Boucherie Road roundabout to just past Anders Park.
