Boil Water Notice Issued for West Kelowna Estates

The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, has issued a Boil Water Notice until further notice, for the West Kelowna Estates System due to a mechanical failure and increased turbidity at the Okanagan Lake intake. Crews are on scene conducting repairs.
A Boil Water Notice means all users should use boiled water, or an alternate, safe source, for drinking, brushing teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, preparing food, making beverages...
Cemetery Parking Lot Closed for Paving

As part of ongoing improvements at the Westbank Cemetery, the City of West Kelowna is paving the parking lot and access roads surrounding the memorial gardens.
Staff must shut down the parking lot and limit access to the cemetery during the paving work on Tuesday, July 16 and Wednesday, July 17. The paving project will improve safety and accessibility and create better use of the parking lot.

Bear Spotted on Mt. Boucherie

Several hikers have called West Kelowna City Hall to report a black bear roaming near trails on Mt. Boucherie.
The mountain is natural wildlife habitat, consisting of Crown, city and private land, and trail users can encounter deer, raptors, rattlesnakes and other wildlife at any time. Although bear, cougar, coyote and moose encounters are less common, they can happen on the mountain on occassion.
