West Kelowna Council has passed a resolution that will be sent to the Ministry of Finance as part of continued efforts to have the city removed from the Speculation and Vacancy Tax (SVT).

Leap Year Deadline for Saving on Dog Licenses

The countdown is on for Central Okanagan dog owners to save on dog license fees for 2020.
This Saturday, February 29th is the last day they can renew or purchase a new license for the rate of $20 for a dog that’s spayed or neutered or $60 if it isn’t. Starting March 1st, regular annual fees of $40 and $80 apply.

Council Advances Loan Bylaw for City Hall

West Kelowna Council has given the first three readings to a borrowing bylaw that involves pursuing an Assent Free loan process to design and build its first City Hall.
The City’s current debt is below five per cent of its annual revenue calculation, defined by the Province of British Columbia, which allows a municipality to borrow against its revenue.
