The City of West Kelowna has rescinded the precautionary Boil Water Notice put in place on October 10 for parts of the downtown core – Westbank Centre - which was the result of a water main break on Old Okanagan Highway.

The City of West Kelowna is issuing a precautionary boil water notice for parts of the downtown core – Westbank Centre - due to a water main break on Old Okanagan Highway.
The area affected stretches from Paynter Road continuing east to Carrall Road and from Butt Road south as far as Powers Creek. Fund Created to Accept Donations for Cemetery Theft Victims

West Kelowna Council has created a fund to accept donations to help victims of the recent theft at the Westbank Cemetery recover costs for memorial replacements.
In the late evening of Saturday, September 14, bronze markers from 55 memorial plots in the Westbank Cemetery were stolen. On September 23, the City was advised that, through excellent police work and local tips, the stolen bronze markers were recovered, however, 19 were damaged beyond repair.

Majoros Pond Park Closing Temporarily for Flood Repairs

The City of West Kelowna will close Majoros Pond Park for approximately three weeks beginning October 9 to repair damages caused during 2018 flooding.
The City will excavate flood material deposited in the three ponds in the park, located at 3645 Carrington Road. To do this, the ponds must first be de-watered with Westbank Creek and Smith Creek being diverted around the work zone. The ponds and the channels connecting them will be rebuilt and vegetation replanted.
