Evening Closure Planned for Spring Cleanup on Boucherie Road North

Crews will close Boucherie Road, between Hayman and Hudson Roads, Wednesday, April 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for spring maintenance and repairs.
The work will require a full closure of the road, bike lanes and sidewalks to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. Crews will maintain access for emergency vehicles, residents living within the immediate work area, buses and transit users.

Crews will close Upper Smith Creek Road, above Copper Ridge Drive, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday from April 27 to May 15 to allow for approved subdivision-related work.
During these times, crews will maintain access for emergency vehicles and local area residents only, meaning recreational users will be unable to use Upper Smith Creek Road to access Glen Canyon Regional Park and the Crown land recreational trails above Smith Creek.

The City of West Kelowna advises that it has issued a blasting permit to T&A Rock Works for lot grading in the vicinity of a former cell phone tower site on the south slopes of Mount Boucherie. The City anticipates that blasting work will take approximately one month.

Hikers, please avoid the northern sections of Mt. Boucherie as crews conduct forest fire mitigation work over the next two to three weeks in and around Eain Lamont Park, off Lakeview Cove Road and Trevor Drive.
