Okanagan Lake has risen to a point where any wind and resulting wave action could be a concern over the next few weeks for waterfront properties.
If you have experienced lake flooding in past years, now is the time to secure docks and sandbag around low lying areas to a height of 60 centimetres. Our self-serve sandbag stations are open on Whitworth, Hitchner, Pritchard, Green Bay and Casa Loma Roads.
Boaters, keep away from shore and slow down to prevent wakes from swamping waterfront...

More than 14,000 City of West Kelowna property owners will soon receive their tax notices through Canada Post and all residents are encouraged to pay online before the July 2 due date.
The City also reminds residents to please claim the Home Owner Grant online before July 2. Visit online.westkelownacity.ca to claim the grant.

Water Quality Advisory Elevated to Boil Water Notice in City of West Kelowna’s Sunnyside/Pritchard System

The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with the Interior Health Authority, is elevating the Water Quality Advisory in the Sunnyside/Pritchard System to a Boil Water Notice, effective immediately and until further notice, due to increased turbidity near the intake in Okanagan Lake. Turbidity affects the performance of the chlorine disinfection process enabling bacteria, viruses and microorganisms to attach themselves to the suspended particles in the turbid water....

Starting today, Friday, May 29, beach volleyball courts and four new pickleball courts will be open in the City of West Kelowna.
Users must maintain safe social distancing of two metres and limit gathering sizes on the courts and sidelines to required players, officials and subs only.
