Bulk Water Station retrofitted to permit touch-free use

Crews have adapted the tap on the Asquith Road side of the Bulk Water Station on Shannon Lake Road to permit touch-free motion activation. The sensor installation enables Lakeview System customers to access the station anytime to get free potable water during the current Water Quality Advisory. The motion sensor will activate the tap for one-minute intervals to prevent water waste. Customers can simply wave above the sensor for additional filling time.

Expect Minor Delays on Boucherie Road For Barrier Installation

Crews will install barriers on the southbound, uphill section of Boucherie Road between Prosperpine and Stuart Roads for the next two weeks as part of a safety improvement project.
Starting Monday, March 30, crews will close the southbound side of the road to form concrete bases and install the barriers along an approximately 160m stretch of road shoulder. Motorist should expect minor delays. Alternatively, drivers can detour around the work via Hudson Road and Highway...

The City of West Kelowna will re-open the Bulk Water Station on Asquith Road from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, March 26. Crews will also open the facility from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, March 27. The City is reviewing options for weekend operations and will provide an update Friday, March 27.

Open Burning not permitted in Central Okanagan

Effective today (March 26) and until April 15, open burning is no longer permitted in the Central Okanagan. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in collaboration with provincial public health partners has issued an open burning restriction for all High Sensitivity Zones across the province, which includes the Central Okanagan.
