The City of West Kelowna’s first public hearing during the COVID-19 pandemic will occur on May 26, 2020 at City Hall (for individual speakers only), and beside City Hall at the Royal LePage Place arena for those waiting to speak. The City of West Kelowna is preparing to resume public hearings for eligible applications. Hearings have been on hold at the City due to restrictions to public gatherings ordered by the provincial health authorities. The City is adapting the format of the hearings to allow the public process to proceed while respecting the physical distancing requirements in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The City of West Kelowna will move the March 24 Council meeting to a larger venue to ensure social distancing, as recommended by health authorities, to prevent the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Council Chambers in City Hall is too small to permit the six-foot required distance between the Mayor, six Councilors, and the staff that need to be in attendance. The Westbank Lions Community Centre has a much larger square footage, at 2,400 square feet, than Council...
