Watermain flushing complete in the Pritchard area

The City of West Kelowna has completed watermain flushing in the Pritchard neighbourhood and the isolated water quality advisory for that area is now rescinded.
Currently, no water quality advisories or boil water notices are required in the City of West Kelowna (see water quality advisory map). Drinking water is meeting federal and provincial guidelines at the Rose Valley and Powers Creek Water Treatment Plants and throughout both distribution systems.

The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, has rescinded a Boil Water Notice in the Smith Creek area within the Powers Creek Water Service Area.
Turbidity levels and the presence of entrained air within the water mains have improved. Water quality data sets have been confirmed to meet the requirements of the Provincial Drinking Water Protection Regulation and the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality.

Boil Water Notice for Smith Creek

The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, is issuing a precautionary Boil Water Notice, until further notice, for a portion of the Powers Creek Water Service Area.
View a map at westkelownacity.ca/waterquality to confirm if your property is in the affected area.
Post-treatment turbidity has been observed, along with entrained air in the water mains within the distribution system. These conditions may reduce the capacity of the disinfection process.

The City of West Kelowna is transitioning watermain flushing to Zone RV05B (see map) in the Shannon Lake neighbourhood starting Thursday, March 26.
An isolated, precautionary water quality advisory will be in effect only within Zones RV05B and RV05C. The advisory will continue until flushing is completed, which is anticipated within the next few weeks. The schedule is subject to weather and other factors.

A precautionary Do Not Consume Water Order has been issued for a portion of the Rose Valley Water Service Area in coordination with Interior Health, the RCMP, and the City of West Kelowna.
