Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant Update

Clean, safe and reliable drinking water is on the way as West Kelowna gets set to turn on the tap for the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant.
The most immediate recovery efforts from the McDougall Creek wildfire have now been addressed, and the City is working closely with the Interior Health Authority to begin safely delivering water from the plant in two phases (November and December 2023).

Crews successfully completed all of the watermain repairs and water service was returned to normal late on Friday evening.

Update as of Friday, Oct. 20 at 8:00 p.m.
Crews have completed repairs on the watermain break and are now working to recharge the system, with normal service/pressure expected later tonight.
If customers notice any discolouration, they should run the cold water tap for several minutes until it runs clear.

Gellatly and Westbank Centre Watermain Break - Oct. 18, 2023

Crews have completed repairs on a watermain break and restored service to an isolated area of Gellatly and Westbank Centre around Brown Road South and The Pointe.
If customers notice any discolouration, they should run the cold water tap for several minutes until it runs clear.

The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, has downgraded the Boil Water Notice to a Water Quality Advisory for the Rose Valley-Lakeview Water Service Area, until further notice.

The City of West Kelowna, in consultation with Interior Health, has rescinded the Boil Water Notice for the Sunnyside/Pritchard System as conditions at the source and in the network have improved.
