Wastewater Collection

Environmental Services

The City of West Kelowna maintains a sanitary sewer system comprised of 236-kilometres of main lines and 25 lift stations.

The system directs waste water to the Regional District of Central Okanagan's (RDCO) forcemain that runs along the bottom of Okanagan Lake and then the Westside Waste Water Treatment Plant, which the RDCO also owns and operates.
System Expansion

The waste water collection system was expanded in in several phases between Spring 2009 and Fall 2012, adding nearly 1,500 potential connections to the system in the Lakeview Heights and Glenrosa neighbourhoods. The project cost approximately $26 million, with $11 million contributed by the federal and provincial governments under the Building Canada Fund.
