Election Offences and Penalties

Elections offences include vote buying, intimidation, tampering with ballots and ballot boxes and electioneering within 100 metres of a polling station.

Penalties for those convicted of committing election offences include fines of up to $10,000 and a prison term of up to two years, plus disqualification from voting or holding office.
